Holiday Gathering For Troops’ Families– December 10 , 2007
We at the Jeffrey Coombs Memorial Foundation know the pain of experiencing the holidays without someone we love. Whether it’s a permanent or a temporary absence, it changes the feel of the holiday and makes it difficult to completely enjoy all the blessings the holiday brings.
If only for a short time, we’d like to do something to help alleviate the void you’re probably feeling. On December 10, 2007, the Jeffrey Coombs Memorial Foundation is hosting a holiday party for families of troops who will be serving in Iraq and Afghanistan over the holidays, and families of wounded and fallen troops as a result of serving in Iraq and Afghanistan. My good friend Cindy McGinty of Foxboro, whose husband Mike was also killed in the 9/11 attacks, is helping me organize this gathering.
The event will be held at Gillette Stadium and will include children and teen activities and entertainment, a visit from Santa, gifts and hopefully surprise appearances from some of the New England Patriots and other local pro athletes. Academy Award winning actor Chris Cooper and his wife, Marianne, of the Sopranos, have already committed to coming. We would be honored to have you and your family join us for a night of distraction, comradery, and fun.
