The Jeff Coombs Memorial Foundation hosted a candlelight vigil before Memorial Day as a way to remind people of the true meaning of Memorial Day. Through music and participation by Gold Star families and some military personnel, the message was to remember Memorial Day for what it means — honor the brave men and women who died in service to our country. It’s so much more than the official start to summer, cookouts, and sales. More than 200 people turned out, waving flags, holding candles, and paying tribute to our service members and the families they left behind.
